About
Dance with the world! Meet friendly people and get a bit of exercise!
In the company of experienced recreational dancers, learn and watch creative and energizing folk dances from cultures around the world. Beginners welcome. No partners required. Wear comfortable clothing and clean non-marking shoes for mild athletic activity. Bring your water bottle for rehydration.
Dances taught and demonstrated throughout the evening by our members will come from many countries and cultures including from Europe, the Middle East, North America and elsewhere. Most dances will be done in an open circle or line formation, or with dancers in a scatter pattern.
As a COVID-19 precaution, everyone is required to wear face masks. Holding hands optional.

Manitoba International Folk Dance Association
We are a non-profit cooperative made up of people who enjoy folk dancing and music from many countries and cultures. The emphasis is on participation, learning new dances, physical activity, and socializing. Our teachers are volunteers and we are run by volunteer officers and committees. There is no charge to participate in our Culture Days Open House event.
We dance from September-June, 8:15 - 10:45 pm on most Friday nights. See http://www.mifda.ca/ for more information. (For those who may decide to join our group in the future, membership is $10 per year, and there is also a drop in fee of $5 per night.)
