About

Help us welcome Bonnie Sitter at the library, during the Clinton Harvest Festival as she presents her new book, "Onion Skins and Peach Fuzz Memories of Ontario Farmerettes".

Recounting the personal stories of the girls who volunteered from 1941-1952 on market garden farms and orchards in Southern Ontario to replace the farmworkers who had left to enlist for war service. A story that has not been told about important war service by young women who worked hard but had a lot of fun! It is Women's History, War History, Agriculture History, Rural History and Ontario History that has been largely ignored.
