About

The New West Cultural Crawl is a vibrant, city-wide celebration of art, creativity, and community that transforms New Westminster into a dynamic cultural hub every fall. Taking place October 4-5, this free, self-guided arts tour invites the public to explore the work of 150+ local artists across 30+ venues, including home studios, galleries, storefronts, civic buildings, and community spaces.

Now in its 22nd year, the Cultural Crawl offers an inspiring opportunity to connect with artists, experience their creative processes firsthand, and discover the diverse artistic talents that make New Westminster a thriving arts destination. From painting and pottery to photography, jewelry, textiles, sculpture, and mixed media, visitors will find a wide variety of artistic expressions on display—and many artworks available for purchase.

The event kicks off with an opening reception and featured exhibition at The Gallery at Queen’s Park on October 1, followed by two days of open studios and interactive experiences. Visitors can expect hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, youth and family-friendly activities, and special events such as poetry readings and evening performances. A spotlight on Indigenous artists highlights the rich cultural heritage and contemporary voices of local Indigenous creators.

Whether you’re an art collector, a curious explorer, or a family looking for weekend fun, the New West Cultural Crawl offers something for everyone. Grab a map, follow your curiosity, and experience the city through the lens of its artists. It’s a weekend full of creativity, connection, and community spirit you won’t want to miss!
