About
"Wendy Wacko: Embracing Canada" represents a visual journey across this vast country, shaped by distance, elemental beauty and a quiet but powerful sense of belonging. The works trace a path eastward from the west coast of Canada, from Haida Gwaii and the inside passage, to Alberta and the majestic beauty of Banff and the rebirth of Jasper, above the treeline in the Rockies, through the wide skies of the Prairies, the deep ulramarine blues of Lake Superior, the wind-swept granite of Georgian Bay and the wooded hills of Gatineau, continuing through the mariner rhythms of Newfoundland and Labrador, the red shores of PEI and the frozen expanse of the Arctic. Each painting is an echo of land, light and atmosphere. Together they form a portrait of unity, a shared resonance. Despite the differences in geography, language and experience across this country there is something quietly connective in the landscape we know as home.
"Wendy Wacko: Embracing Canada" will remain on display until Sunday, October 25, 2026.
