About

The Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Cemetery Heritage Walking Tour is a guided walking tour. This cemetery was designated in 2006 by the County of Brant for its historical and architectural significance. The cemetery was established in 1802 on land granted by Joseph Brant as a public burying ground. The people buried there are from many of the area's original pioneer families. They played an important part in the development of the village, the County of Brant and the country. The guide will lead you to the graves of some of the most significant pioneers, where you will be greeted by costumed interpreters who will tell their stories. A display and refreshments will be provided at the Community Centre, as well as plenty of parking.

Organizer

Brant Railway Heritage Society

The Brant railway Heritage Society exists to preserve the railway history of Brant County and Brantford, and help educate the public of the significance of the railways; past, present and future. This not-for- profit group intends to do this through the restoration of the Mt. Pleasant LE&N train station, transforming the building into a museum dedicated to the railway as well as the village of Mt. Pleasant.

Mission: To promote and educate the general public about the railway history of Brant County and Brantford.
