About

The Quesnel Arts Council In partnership with the Arts & Rec Centre in Quesnel has available chalk for the schools to pick up and have a chalk challenge. School Sidewalk Chalk Challenge is an invitation for the local schools in the Quesnel District to take part in this multi-aged group activity. This year 2023 will be our 10th Annual School Sidewalk Challenge. This is an outdoor, cooperative, and inexpensive back-to-school art activity that will encourage school/class spirit. The focus is on participation rather than on competition. Chalk is supplied to participating schools and photos of the resulting art work is shared on social media. For the past two years an artist has been contracted to present at some of the schools and at a public event, to assist with youth and inspiration for further participation.
