Unveiled in 2017, An 85-year-old promise to honour 137 men who died building one of the greatest engineering marvels in Canada was fulfilled with the unveiling of the Welland Canal Fallen Workers Memorial in St. Catharines, Ont.

St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre & St. Catharines Culture
St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre:
A Municipal Museum with permanent and temporary exhibits that illustrate the history of St. Catharines and its people: The Welland Canals, the Underground Railroad, and the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame & Museum. At the Centre you can also experience the technological marvel that is the Welland Canal Locks - head outside to experience the Lock 3 Ship Viewing Platform.
St. Catharines Culture:
The Cultural Services office is a division of the City of St. Catharines’ Community, Recreation and Culture Services department. Cultural Services focuses on public art, community development, planning and policy related to arts and culture in the City of St. Catharines. During Culture Days, staff partner with organizations and artists to deliver programs for the Community.
