About

The Gallery at L.E. Shore will host the students and instructors of The Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting for a September art exhibit! “En Plein Air” runs from September 2-27.

The Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting (BMSLP) was founded in 1980, primarily hosting plein air (outdoors) classes. They have gained provincial wide recognition for their excellent instruction in the beautiful outdoors.

2023 is the 41st season of the BMSLP’s spring painting workshops in the Blue Mountains. This is a rare opportunity where local property owners allow students to enjoy and paint beautiful, often historic sites. In this exhibit, past and present students are invited to share their work painted on those sites. BMSLP is excited for the opportunity to show the wonderful work of their students in a variety of mediums. They are also thrilled that newer students can experience and learn from showing work for the first time. We all look forward to gathering together to celebrate the work!

The Blue Mountains Public Library (BMPL) is comprised of a Gallery, Library, Archive and Museum, also known as a GLAM. GLAMs are now understood to be the culture hubs of communities across the province, and more regularly have been seen to have a single operational body, such as in the BMPL model. We provide regular services and programming through each component of our GLAM.

The Gallery at L.E. Shore is a lovely, vaulted exhibition space within the Library that hosts monthly exhibits by both individuals and groups from the region. The Arts & Culture Council (ACC) juries exhibits and provides Arts & Culture presentations and speaker series in this space as well.
