Kingston Writersfest: And the Journey Continues...
Holiday Inn Garden
Nature & outdoors
Poetry & spoken word
Writing & literature
A hit every year! Come celebrate emerging local talent with a set of energizing, provocative, and powerful spoken-word performances. Headlined by Kingston’s own verbal powerhouse Allison Chisholm and Toronto spoken-word poet Abena Beloved Green, this event promises to make you see the world in a different way – maybe more than once! Follow the signs or ask for directions to the Garden at the Holiday Inn, and remember to bring a lawn chair to this outdoor event!
This event is free.
Kingston WritersFest was launched in 2006 by a core group of dedicated and hardworking volunteers under the auspices of Kingston Frontenac Public Library and Kingston Literacy. Still lovingly organized by a dedicated staff and a corps of book-loving volunteers committed to fostering a love of literature, the festival now welcomes an audience of 6,000 to more than 50 events featuring some 70 authors from around the world, across the country, and down the street. Hailed as one of the best festivals in the country, it is renowned for its unique programming and the intimate atmosphere within which this community of readers and writers continues to grow.
