Please join award-winning Mission photographer Bob Friesen for a showing of some of his favourite images of Mission’s beautiful scenery and wildlife. He will be available to discuss how to successfully capture images that stand out, what equipment is needed, and how to prepare for your outing.

I've always had a camera in my hand; from my parents Brownie Hawkeye when I was a child, through the instamatic years to a real SLR, and finally the progression to digital. Tools of the trade change, but what I have accumulated through that time is an appreciation for my surroundings and my own specific way of seeing them. This appreciation translates into what you see in my images, what is important to me, what moves me in life.
I have been blessed with unique opportunities to learn, 10+ years photographing for my local newspaper, which challenges me with everything from sports, theatre, and community events to local politics. This year I received a Best Feature Photo Award from Newsmedia Canada and the Canadian Community Newspaper Association for my image “Fly like an eagle.”
