About

Join us for a fun afternoon of dancing, tours and refreshments to celebrate BC Culture Days and the opening of our new exhibit Coquitlam's Heart of Gold. The Golden Spike CanCan Dancers will wow you with their high energy kicks and colourful costumes and get you in the mood to learn about the history of the gold rush of the 1800's and its impact on the Coquitlam community.

You can also enjoy a tour of the Fraser Mills Train Station and our 1970's Caboose before they close for the fall and winter season.

Performance times 1pm & 2pm in front of the caboose in Heritage Square.

Tours from 10-4pm. Tours are limited to one family/group per tour. Each tour lasts approximately 20 minutes. Masks are recommended inside the museum, train station and caboose.

Coquitlam Heritage

Coquitlam Heritage offers numerous services to Coquitlam’s residents. In addition to yearly exhibits in Mackin House, we offer seasonal tours of the Fraser Mills Train Station and CP Rail 1970’s Caboose in Heritage Square. We also operate year-round as a Tourism Information centre for the City of Coquitlam.

Yearly exhibits in Mackin House run from September to June. We also set up rotating exhibits across the community.

We provide a variety of events and workshops for all ages. Educators can request a tour booking and engage in the heritage programs offered online and in person. Our collection includes local artifacts of importance as well as the oral histories of community members, making our collection an evolving mosaic that reflects our city.

Our mission is to preserve, honour and promote Coquitlam’s heritage. This mission brings us to many community events and results in various collaborative initiatives. Some of the events we attend and host are: Mid-Autumn Moon Family Day, Canada Day celebrations at Town Centre Park and Black History Month Family Day.
