The Ottawa Deaf Expo and Deaf Social Night coincides with the International Week of the Deaf, an annual event hosted by the World Federation of the Deaf. The event also falls on the International Day of Sign Languages, hosted by the United Nations.
Our event is about celebrating our pride of Deaf identity and cherishing our languages, American Sign Language and La langue québécoise (Quebec Sign Language). There are over 300 sign languages worldwide.
