Yukon Historical & Museums Association

YHMA is a territorially incorporated charitable organization with a mission to strengthen heritage in the Yukon through leadership, advocacy, and education.

We keep appraised of issues and advocate on behalf of the Yukon’s heritage and heritage sector. We continue to build a learning environment for history and culture and the development of skills and best practices. We share knowledge with the Yukon heritage community and support each other in protection and conservation projects. Many of our activities are collaborations and partnerships.

Our membership reflects the scope and diversity of the Yukon heritage community, including both institutions, such as museums, First Nation cultural centres, and historic sites, and individuals, such as heritage sector workers and heritage enthusiasts.

YHMA operates out of the Donnenworth House, a municipally designated historic site situated alongside two other heritage buildings in Lepage Park, in the heart of downtown Whitehorse. We are the proud caretakers of Lepage Park and these three designated buildings.
