FREE PRESENTATION, DISCUSSION & REFRESHMENTS
This community outreach event comprises two engaging presentations built around the 2019 Culture Days theme of Creativity, the Arts, and Wellbeing. Attendees will gain insight to research linking creativity and wellness.
A 6pm talk Music for Mental Health will be given by Jennifer Buchanan, a music therapist, followed at 7pm with Prescriptions for Art by artist Dick Averns.
Attendees can share their own insight by contributing personal narratives in either of the Q+A sessions following each talk and during the discussions. Art, Music and Wellbeing is
a SITE cPROJECT promoting wellbeing through artistic programming and creative peer support, for anyone touched by mood disorders. cPROJECTS are an initiative of OBAD (Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorder). Buchanan’s book, Wellness Incorporated, will also be for sale.
This event is free. You may attend either the whole event or just one or two components.
Pre-registration via eventbrite is encouraged. Drop-in attendance welcome based on space.
