About

Needle felting with bison hair? Learn how to needle felt or experiment with an unusual fibre in this short craft session for beginners to experts.

This activity was inspired by three pieces in MCML's collection that were made from bison hair. During WWII, members of the Manitoba Craft Guild collected bison hair from the Assiniboine Park Zoo to experiment with alternatives to sheep wool, which was rationed at the time. The bison hair being used in this activity was collected from real live bison at Rockwood Bison Ranch!

This event will take place over the course of four Saturdays with three sessions at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm each day. Each session is 45 minutes long. Pre-registration is required. There will be a maximum of 4 participants per session.
