About

The Aurora Historical Society is happy to announce free admission to Hillary House National Historic Site for Culture Days. Hillary House was built in 1862 and home to four doctors and their families until 1993. Join us for a guided tour and learn more about the life and times of these important community helpers.

While you are here, be sure to check out our exhibit Mental Health: A History, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association – York and South Simcoe. This exhibit explores the treatment of mental health in the nineteeth and twentieth centuries, including the rise of the institution, various treatments, terminology, and what it was like to live as a patient.
