About
Elders at the Centre of Ontario is a project inspired by Hornepayne photographer Tayler Silva's photo essay "Gift Giver".
Ms. Silva, founder of the Hornepayne Photography Club, along with her colleague and fellow photographer Melissa Stevenson, will work with community members to capture the Elders in their own social bubbles, and provide online workshops and support to help edit and curate their photos.
Community storytellers Sharon Craig and and Hailie Gagliardi will work to interview and record the voices and memories of these members of the community and mentors from Hornepayne Community Arts and the YOUthink program will help to edit together audio to accompany these portraits.
In this crazy time of public health phases, our community elders are often the most isolated. It is our hope that by bringing their voices out into the community, that we can continue to remind them, and ourselves, of their importance in our daily lives.
