About

The Group of Seven in Algoma video features artwork in the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of Algoma and sites where the famous group of Seven painted on their numerous trips to Algoma. The focus of this video is on A.Y. Jackson and J.E.H. MacDonald and the endless inspiration they found in Algoma. This video shows some beautiful sites of untouched nature in Algoma and on the shores of Lake Superior.

Art Gallery of Algoma

Art Gallery of Algoma (AGA) is the public art gallery incorporated in 1975. The mandate of the Gallery is to collect, present and preserve artwork by Canadian, international and local artists. The permanent collection of the AGA is over 5,000 artworks, many by well-known Canadian artists. In addition to presenting exhibitions the AGA has an active educational program and virtual programs available on the website wwwartgalleryofalgoma.com and on the YouTube channel. The Gallery is located in downtown Sault Ste. Marie on the banks of St. Mary's River.
