About
Join us for a conversation with Farzana Doctor about her new book 52 Weeks to a Sweeter Life.
Attend a live reading and conversation with author Farzana Doctor, who discusses her new book 52 Weeks to a Sweeter Life. Dr. Alan Taniguchi of the 100% Certainty Project interviews Farzana. Presented by the Cancer Assistance Program.
The 45-minute conversation is followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer period.
As an activist, community organizer and social worker, Farzana has preached self-care to hundreds of people struggling with burnout and exhaustion. But for years, she couldn’t manage to take her own advice. She knew many other helpers and activists were the same: they struggled to escape the cycle of overwork, being overwhelmed, and recovering. 52 Weeks to a Sweeter Life is a workbook that speaks directly to these people — and anyone struggling to pause, set boundaries and centre their needs.
The Cancer Assistance Program is a community-based, not-for-profit organization offering free services for individuals and families affected by cancer living in the greater region of Hamilton and surrounding communities.
The 100% Certainty Project is an initiative sponsored by the Division of Palliative Care at McMaster University in partnership with Epic Books, PX Dermody Funeral Homes, Hamilton Public Library, Heart House Hospice and C. Elizabeth Dougherty Consulting.
