About

Scugog Arts and the Port Perry Hospital Foundation are collaborating to spread well-being through painting ceiling tiles. With the help and talent of local artists tiles will be painted, and then placed back in the hospital allowing patients to have something calming and colorful to look up at.

Similar initiatives have proven successful and shown the public that there is a healing power associated with art. Specifically, scenes depicting open landscapes and nature have been highly beneficial in comforting patients. The tiles can also serve as a distraction during treatments and exams.

Before the tiles make their way back to the Port Perry Hospital, they will be on display surrounded by a hub of culture and arts at Culture Days in Scugog. Discover hands-on workshops, engaging demonstrations, an exhibition of ceiling art, and live musical performances along Perry St in Port Perry on Saturday, September 28th from 11 am to 5 pm.

This is a fundraiser for the Port Perry Hospital Foundation. To sponsor a tile, for a minimum donation of $200, please contact Lindsay Cochrane at the Foundation Office at 905-985-7321 Ext. 45580 or [email protected].
