Painting is my hobby and passion. The world is beautiful, I try to capture it as I see it through my eyes. In my landscapes I show the beauty and uniqueness of the places I see. Hope this can be an encouragement for others to go and visit, to experience these places through their eyes.

In my portraits I try to capture a person's likeness as well as their spirit and character. It is an opportunity for the viewer to share in a moment captured on canvas.

Art and different artists inspire me to try new things, and to explore a new perspective. Hope my paintings can be an inspiration to others.

Leok-Maria Leokadia Mytkowski.

I am a self-taught artist born in Poland. I studied mathematics at University in Poland, and graduated with a master degree. Married with 4 children, we came to Canada in 1985. I was working in System and Technology as technical analyst.

My husband and I moved to Brampton in 1989 and we raised our family here.

I started to draw and paint as a young child, starting with watercolour, expressing still life, landscapes and architecture. Shortly after year 2000 I started to paint portraits. I am using mainly oil on canvas or wood panels.

Painting has been a source of self discovery and reflection. Through all the good and difficult moments it continues to be an escape and source of joy.
