About

Emphasizing stability, strength, and mobility this full-body class combines yoga and pilates to create a joyful and energetic movement experience. We will flow through strength-building poses before arriving at a peak sequence, and end with a chilled-out stretch session.

What to expect: Mindful breath work and stillness, full-body strengthening sequences, ooey-gooey spinal awakening, groovy tunes.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Jessica is a movement facilitator who lives in Port Perry, Ontario. She is a lover of moving in all the ways and has been practicing yoga for 15 years. After discovering a class style that fuses yoga and pilates in 2017, she went on to complete her 200hr teacher training in this method and has taught in Toronto, Hamilton and the Durham Region. As a certified Barre instructor, she also draws on the teachings of musicality and dance when building her classes.

Her thoughtful class sequencing combines prep, peak, and release poses, allowing you to feel supported and safe during your class. Jessica firmly believes movement should be inclusive and accessible and hopes you walk away feeling empowered and at home in your body.

Scugog Arts and Jessica Smith

Scugog Arts is a creative hub: awakening, inspiring, and connecting you to all the arts. We are an arts space on Queen Street in Port Perry with Resident Artists, monthly exhibitions, and workshops for artists and visitors. Scugog Arts also organizes and hosts multi-arts cultural events, literary programs, festivals, and tours.

Scugog Arts connects the community with public art displays such as our Art You Can Sit On, a memorial to Bill Lishman, ceiling tiles for the hospital, and live theatre and music in the back lot.

Scugog Arts is funded by individual donors, Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, Vos’ Independent Grocery, Old Flame Brewery, Canadian Tire Port Perry, Central Counties Tourism, and the Canada Summer Jobs program of the Government of Canada. Fundraising efforts always focus on unique ways and various arts disciplines with engaging entertainment for supporters.
