The Kingston Prize for Portraiture / Le Prix Kingston

Canadians Painting Canadians

Since 2005, The Kingston Prize has been one of the most anticipated Canadian portrait competition and exhibitions in the country. It is a unique celebration of the lives of Canadian people as seen through the works of gifted Canadian contemporary portraiture artists. Along with a 1st Prize and two Honorary Mentions, there is also a People’s Choice Award that gives everyone visiting the exhibition an opportunity to vote for their favourite portrait. In its blackbox setting, The Firehall Theatre transforms these works of art into something magical. For more details visit our website and social media for the names of the 30 finalists and starting September 1, the finalists' works will be unveiled in "Thirty Days Hath September”.

Winners will be announced Friday October 13 2023. Join us to celebrate these world class portraits.
