About

Ella Chay is an emerging BIPOC artist.

In Ella Chay's exhibition, I Saw You in a Dream, she explores the intersections between

dreams and memories. This exhibition includes a collection of mixed media paintings

and sculptures that reflect the shifting chaos and peace of dreams, and the

unpredictability of the subconscious mind. Dreams also provide an opportunity to dive

into the emotions, fears and desires revealed by the subconscious.

Ella has a BFA Visual Arts Honours with Distinction, from the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC and is represented by Sweetpea Gallery.

As a non-profit charity Xchanges is committed to being of service to the greater community through its artistic and gallery goals and developing its people and supporting creativity. The mandate of Xchanges is to provide affordable studios, present challenging and engaging contemporary art in diverse media whether in our physical spaces or online and virtually, and to support a positive and creative culture in Victoria, BC.
