About

Join the Ambleside Orchestra under the direction of Nicolas Krusek for a look at the rehearsal process for a performance. How does the conductor shape the music and convey his ideas to the musicians? What challenges the musicians and what flows easily? Nicolas is well known for his informative introductions; learn more about the origins of the music performed and its structure. The music of Glinka will be featured, with orchestral works and arias sung by bass soloist Andrew Stewart.

Organizer

Ambleside Orchestra

Ambleside Orchestra is the North Shore's community orchestra. Musicians ranging in age from 12 to their 80s rehearse once a week to prepare for four Mainstage Performances, as well as a number of community events and a smaller chamber concert. Intermediate to advanced string players are always welcome, and advanced wind and brass musicians join by invitation when a vacancy occurs. Nicolas Krusek, our Music Director, skillfully leads the orchestra through the classical repertoire, and is widely known for his entertaining and informative introductions. Ambleside Orchestra offers awards and scholarships to young musicians in recognition of their musicianship and their contributions to the orchestra.
