About

Lee Lifeson Art Park, the community hub named for two #Willowdale natives who formed the rock band RUSH, was designed specifically with music in mind.

In the spirit of the boundary-busting sounds that defined Rush’s career and the Park’s role as a community gathering place, #Jamphitheatre is a unique experience of the talent, diversity, and excitement of Willowdale, #NorthYork, and beyond.

Gathering musicians from a range of traditions, backgrounds, genres, and styles, Jamphitheatre presents our city’s soundtrack - as it’s being created, in a jam session live in the Park, led by a handful of our City's finest.

If you’re a musician, we invite you to bring your instrument and join in, and the host will help you get a chance to perform with the group. But you don’t have to be a musician to participate – in addition to witnessing the creation of music that’s never before existed, audiences will see the creative process up close and personal, and experience the power of music to bring us together. And with musicians coming together for the first time, you might also be witnessing a new band in the making.

Join us in Lee Lifeson Art Park at the amphitheatre on Culture Days weekend, Friday September 27, from 630-830pm for Jamphitheatre, where anything can happen. We're also hosting a session on Friday August 23 from 630-830 that should help prepare you for the Culture Days session.

In partnership with Councillor John Filion, Ward 18 (https://www.facebook.com/johnfilionto/) and Small World Music (http://smallworldmusic.com/).Thanks to the Music Office, Film & Entertainment Industries, City of Toronto, for supporting this initiative.
