"Bringing Art to Life Through Verse: An Ekphrastic Experience"

In Partnership with New West Artists and Royal City Literary Arts Society

Featured poets are members of RCLAS and include:

Poets will be asked to visit the NWA Gallery on 12th prior to the event (or pop by for a visit Thurs-Sun 12pm-6pm). They will spend time viewing the art at their leisure and write poetry in response to the art works of their choice. Each of the Featured Poets will be given a 10--15 minute reading slot to share their new works.

There will be an open mic time when poet Stephen Karr and members of the audience will have a chance to read poems relating to the exhibit. The artworks can be viewed at an earlier time that day and there will also be a short break between the readings that could be used for writing.

The program will include a 15-minute musical interlude with a featured musician.
