You have the oppourtinity to "be a tree dancing in the wind", the projection will follow your movement in real time.

Artist Statement

An emotional and spiritual connection with nature creates the foundation for a sustainable future. When someone feels connected to their environment they are more inclined to care for and protect it. When love for nature is stronger than material desires, our energies and imagination can be directed towards nurturing our resources.

This Artwork was first presented by The Amsterdam Light Festival. The location was inside The Hortus Botanicus, a botanical garden in Amsterdam, Netherlands founded in 1638. The Tree was projected onto The Three Climate Greenhouse.

**This will be the first Canadian exhibition of this artwork!***

The Artwork was imagined in response to the festival concept of BIOMIMICRY.

Biomimicry is an approach to innovation that seeks sustainable solutions to human challenges, by emulating nature's patterns and strategies. The goal of Biomimicry is to create products, processes, and policies—and ultimately new ways of living—that are well adapted to human life on Planet Earth over the long haul.

This artwork creates a symbiotic relationship between the audience and the artwork. A person is mimicking nature while the artwork is mimicking the person.
