About

The Off-ish is a coworking space in Sapperton; Curated by Stephen Carl O'Shea, this solo painting exhibition features the chromatic and atmospheric mindscapes of New Westminster artist Danielle Bobier.

About Danielle Bobier:

Danielle Bobier (b. 1985, New Westminster) lives cooperatively in New Westminster and makes her studio at 1000 Parker Street in Vancouver.

She holds a BFA in Visual Arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (2016), and a diploma in Fine Art from Langara College (2014). She has shown in local solo and group exhibitions, and is the recipient of two BC Arts Council grants, the Langara College Painting Studio Award, and residencies at Malaspina Printmakers and Makerlabs in Vancouver. She works professionally as a Fine Art Framer.

Bobier’s practice is centred around oil painting with cold wax, as well as ventures into computer and cnc machine-aided visual art. Her painting work incorporates themes of repetitive symbolism, abstracted landscapes, atmospheric optics, and the sublime, with a concentration on colour relationships and graphic simplicity.

Her work can be found in the Langara College Permanent Collection, the Wayfinding: Art for Patients with Dementia Research Collection in conjunction with UBC School of Nursing, and in private collections.
