Organizer
Sikh Heritage Museum and South Asian Studies Institute
The Sikh Heritage Museum was founded and first opened in the year 2011 as part of the Centennial Celebrations of the Gur Sikh Temple (est. 1911). Since its founding in 2011, the Museum has put on various exhibits ranging from subjects including The Ghadar Revolution, Sikh Feminism, the Komagata Maru, The Sikh festival of Hola Mohallah, and South Asians and Hockey.
The South Asian Studies Institute (the Institute) at the University of the Fraser Valley brings together South Asia scholars and students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to create a nexus point for programs and activities that support our vision. The Institute fosters inter-disciplinary scholarly research, community and public engagement on issues related to South Asia and the Canadian South Asian Diaspora.
