Organizer
Manitoba Society Of Artists
The Manitoba Society of Artists hosts the OJCE each year since 1926. This is a provincewide artistic competition and exhibition, open to all of Manitoba‘s budding, established, and seasoned artmakers, making it a diverse and multimedia showcase that changes each year. Artists of all 2D and 3-D disciplines are encouraged to submit 2 to 3 works and we usually see a response of submissions up To 200 artists yearly.
All entries are included in the long list exhibit. When the jury makes their shortlist selection, the works are whittled from an average of 200-450 pieces to 80+ pieces, (normally displayed in a gallery setting for a few months at the chosen location). This year the entire exhibit and events are online. The MSA is honored to present awards of excellence on behalf of the jury.
The OJCE is a Manitoba staple. The Manitoba Society of Artists believes the OJCExhibition to be a perfect example of artistic inclusivity and creative expression judged entirely on the merits within the work.
The OJCE2020 entry playing field where an artmaker’s work matters more than his experience or education makes the show so attractive to finding new talent. Every year new names are submitted, showing that our efforts to advertise the show does get seen.
This event is a connection to the history and heritage of artistic expression in our province.
