About
Mission has a rich and diverse heritage which includes character homes, parks, gardens, streetscapes and an historic business district which collectively give citizens a sense of place and unique cultural identity –all are places that matter! NEW content had been added by the Archives to its Heritage Places website (launched 2024) which includes: Fujikawa Farm, Ferndale School, Deroche Community Hall along with 20 sites on the HISTORY PIN page where the viewer can compare historic photographs of present day places to see how they changed or remained relatively the same.
Organizer
Mission Community Archives
The Archives serves local residents and the global community by acquiring, preserving, maintaining, documenting and making available for public research records of archival value to the City of Mission and the Fraser Valley Regional District Electoral Areas. Archivist Val Billesberger believes that key to carrying out to archives' mandate is to engage the public by showcasing Mission’s storied past through its online presence, public programs and community partnerships.
