About
Pardiss Amerian will join us at KWAG on Saturday 15 October at 2:00 pm for a free Artist Talk discussing her works on view in SOS: A Story of Survival, Part I - The Image, curated by Darryn Doull.
From a rich field of references that includes illuminated manuscripts and historic Persian literature, Pardiss Amerian produces mesmerizing works that easily bend between representation and abstraction. Likenesses simultaneously emerge and dissolve before your eyes from the carefully layered ground of each painting. In some ways, Pardiss works like a translator, receiving historical narratives and recontextualizing their components, producing an uncharted elsewhere for viewers to wander.
Join us as we dive deeper into Pardiss’ process and view her works in SOS: A Story of Survival.
Artist Talks at KWAG are kindly supported by Momentum Developments and Sorbara Law.
