Oakville Museum
The historic buildings of Erchless Estate, once home to Oakville's founding family, are now the setting for the Oakville Museum. We offer guided tours of the Chisholm family home, changing exhibitions, special events and programs that tell the fascinating stories of our town. Visitors can stroll through the grounds and explore the many points of historical interest while enjoying picturesque lakeside views. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. General admission is by donation.
Oakville Museum exhibits are also on display in our satellite gallery at QEP Community and Culture Centre (2303 Bridge Road) and recreation facilities across Oakville.
The Oakville Museum is located on the lands of Treaties 14 & 22, the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. We acknowledge and thank the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Treaty holders, for being stewards of this traditional territory.
