Artisans Centre Peterborough

The mission of the Artisans Centre Peterborough is to preserve heritage artisans’ skills and enhance the community of Peterborough and the Kawarthas by providing education and skills training to the public, from children to seniors. The Artisans Centre provides a facility equipped with equipment, tools, supplies and print resources; instructors; and a registration system, for interest groups in the region to meet, teach and exchange ideas, skills and techniques. We currently teach classes in fibre, woodturning and gourding, as well as other artisan crafts for example Kumihimo and tatting. Fibre classes include Weaving, Fibre Art, Felting, Dyeing, Spinning. Basic woodturning runs every month, also frequently teach Sharpening Woodturning Tools, Basic Pen Turning, Peppermill, Natural Edge Bowl. Specialty Gourd classes are offered once a month, with Beginner Gourd Art offered bi-monthly. We offer classes for children during the March Break and the Summer Holidays.
