About

Culture Days in Yorkton offers one-on-one consultations with Writer-in-Residence, Tricia Friesen Reed. If you are interested in getting feedback on your writing, in any genre, or would simply like to talk about your writing process, please submit a sample of your writing before October 18, 2021. Tricia will review your piece and arrange an appointment (either in-person or virtual) to discuss your writing and any questions you might have. There are 8 spots available, so submit your writing early to reserve your spot. Tricia says, “Connecting with other writers and having them look closely at my work as been the single most helpful thing in my journey.” She is looking forward to reading your work!

How to participate:

-Submit your work to Tricia Friesen Reed before October 18

-Send document as an email attachment to [email protected]

-Writing sample can be anywhere from 1-15 pages in length

-Writing sample should be double-spaced and easy to read (use a font such as Times New Romans)

-Tricia will work through your writing sample on her own and then contact you to arrange a one-hour consultation (either in person or online), October 18 -24

Tricia Friesen Reed

Tricia Friesen Reed, an educator and writer with international experience in community development. Her work has been published in The Midwest Review, Geez Magazine, Deep Wild, Write Magazine, and elsewhere. Tricia mentored under national best-selling author Trevor Herriot in 2020, and earned a literary grant from the Saskatchewan Arts Board in 2021. She is currently looking for a publisher for her full-length manuscript, “A Guidebook to Travelling Home.” Tricia lives in Yorkton, SK and blogs at experimentingaswegrow.wordpress.com.

Culture Days Yorkton is a celebration of art and culture in our community. An exciting selection of art and culture events and activities will take place indoors, outdoors and online for 4 weeks starting September 24th through October 24th.
