Timber Timbre: Works by David Martinello

Cedar Hill Recreation and Arts Centre

3220 Cedar Hill Road

Saanich, BC

In-person

Timbre Timbre is a survey of work produced by David Martinello that considers the agency of wood with its embedded gestures as inspiration for his creative practice. Working with the attributes of wood Martinello calls attention to the intrinsic value and legacy of the material as a means to illustrate our relationship with the environment. About the Artist: Art and Craft are both considerations of David Martinello. His work is informed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Queen's University and years working as a carpenter with his furniture making company Alternative Woodworks. Martinello has curated several shows in BC, operated a gallery, and as an artist his paintings, sculpture and prints have been shown across Canada.
