Directions: After registration, a ZOOM link along with instructions will be sent a week before the workshop starts. The workshop will be live on ZOOM with 30 mins Q&A "Ask Me Anything". The workshop will be recorded and sent to all participants within a week of the event. The recording will be available for viewing for one month after the workshop. Registered participants need to have a ZOOM account and app to access the workshop.

Are you overwhelmed with the variety of art supplies on the market? Want to try something different and explore your creative side with professionally selected art materials? This workshop is designed to introduce you to the basics of art supplies so that you can incorporate them into your practice. Maggie will cover the basics of how to set up an Open Art Studio in your school, in a classroom, at home or even at work.
Exploring a variety of drawing media including watercolour, acrylic, gouache, drawing pencils, pastels, ink and more! The workshop will take a comprehensive look at various supplies and materials and how to apply them to your own project. We will discover how various brushes and drawing tools react and work best with various papers, as well as sketchbooks. Let’s explore how you can incorporate environmental practice into your art setting. Limited space is available.

This workshop is online and encourages all participants to practice stay-at-home. COVID safety requirements and Guidelines are not requirement.

Arts and Play Society
Art and Play Society is a non-profit organization under the influence of Reggio Emilia philosophies. Nature emphasizes and supporting Expressive art wellness practice. The Arts and Play Society ( APS ) offers Community Education workshops and classes in South Okanagan Valley, Vancouver Island, and Metro Vancouver throughout the year. APS Community Education is open to youth and adults who want to experience art and fun creative opportunities.
Workshops are held for one or more days depending on availability.
In-Person and Virtual Classes meet once bi-weekly over a period of six weeks or monthly year round. Participants learn new creative skills and techniques in small groups.
Educator workshops are also offered throughout the academic year for teachers and early childhood educators. These are professional workshops that will enrich their passion for art and for teaching, as well as fulfill professional development requirements.
