About
St. Andrew's Presbyterian in Fergus is hosting a Ceilidh style Dance on September 26th. We will have local musicians playing some good ole dancing tunes and a dance caller to guide us through the process! If you're a visitor to Centre Wellington or a long-time resident this event is for you! Come out and enjoy a slice of Scottish heritage!
This event is pay-what-you-may!
Organizer
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
St. Andrew’s Church, the church on the hill, has been a congregation in
Fergus since 1834. The present building dates from 1862. The Historical
Marker to the west of the building is in both Gaelic and English. Buried
in the church cemetery is George Clephane, about whom his sister,
Elizabeth Clephane wrote the lyrics to the hymn “There were ninety and
nine."
St. Andrew's has a committed relationship with a community church in Santa Ana, El Salvador. This church, Mas Que Vencedores, works to alleviate poverty, promote education, and provide safe places for young people through sports. All funds from this event will go towards supporting these efforts.
