About
It’s been a difficult year. Things have seemed dark, scary, and isolating. But just like seeds buried alone in the earth, we have all been growing and moving towards the light. Let’s come out into the air, create some art, and bloom together! Join Artbeat Studio to make a suncatcher in the shape of a flower petal, decorating it however you wish. These petals will be combined and displayed in the windows in Central Winnipeg during Culture Days.
You can participate by coming to one of our drop-in group sessions (see times below), or come by Studio Central to pick up a petal and supply kit, decorate it, and then return the petal to have it added to a flower. Kits will be available starting in late August, until October 4.
We ask that petals be returned by October 9 so we can assemble the flowers and get them on display until the end of Culture Days on October 24!
Creation sessions and kit pick-up are at Studio Central, Unit 251 A of Portage Place Mall (second floor, around the corner from Dollarama). You can pick up a kit there on weekdays, 12:00-5:00. Please wear a face mask while inside Studio Central. We have a limited capacity to allow for physical distancing, and on September 28, when space is limited to 10 people only. If you would like to reserve a spot, please call 204-943-5194 or email [email protected]
If you are an organizer of a community group who would like to set up a creation session just with your group, with virtual or in-person instruction, contact us to make arrangements.
Funding for this activity comes from Central Neighbourhoods Winnipeg.
