Directions: The music box is a beach house located on the shores of Ambleside beach in John Lawson park. There is plenty of free parking. The workshop will take place upstairs of the music box. Please come around to the side door on the East side of the building. You will be welcomed with a stunning view of the ocean and a fantastic space to lean the art of capoeira.

Has gender-neutral washrooms.

Unfortunatly this venue is not wheelchair accessible


Join us at the music box for a FREE workshop where you will experience the history and fantastic world of capoeira. Facilitated by master capoeira teacher this workshop is designed for kids to move and have fun!

Capoeira is a African-Brazilian martial art, created originally as a fight for freedom. In order to protect their patricians and assure capoeira's legacy to feature generations, the Africans in Brazil incorporated in capoeira, dance, acrobatics and music elements. Disguising on these elements their original fight for freedom. Today capoeira is an international sport that has spread to more than 120 countries. It is the main advertiser of the Brazilian Portuguese language and Brazilian culture.

Through capoeira, kids learn: motor coordination skills, self defense, team work, discipline as well as music, singing, playing ,musical instruments.
