About
Arts Underground, Northern Cultural Expressions Society, and Yukon Artists at Work invite you to join us on Friday October 4th from 5-7 pm to celebrate Culture Days. Take a self-directed art crawl between the three galleries to enjoy art, snacks and refreshments.
Thank you to the Government of Yukon’s Department of Tourism and Culture for sponsoring this event.
At the YAAW solo gallery (4th and Wood St.), “Blind Encounters”, a group show by ten of our members. It’s based on the childhood ‘whisper’ game, or known by some as the ‘broken telephone’ game. As well, two of our artists will be giving live demonstrations of their art practices.
At Arts Underground, located in the basement of the Hougens Centre (305 Main Street), two new shows are opening: “You Do You: Unorthodox Portraits of Yukon Locals” by Mark Kelly, and “Life Nectar” by Ashley Swinton, a body of work that pays homage to our sacral chakra.
At the Northern Cultural Expressions Society (Main St. and 7th Ave.), Alicia Harry will be the featured artist.
