About

Calling all movie lovers! Join local artist Ron Reed for a look at how time is portrayed in popular and independent film: movies about specific dates (Groundhog Day, The Longest Day), successions of dates (Seven Days in May, Thirteen Days, Donnie Darko), time travel (Back To The Future, The Time Machine, Frequency), clock time (the hours of the day in storytelling), and calendar goofs — when screenwriters, actors, and prop departments got it wrong! This fun, interactive evening promises to be full of discussion, artistic insight, and will offer participants an excellent "time".

Ron Reed is the creator of Date Movie: Around the Year, Around the Clock... at the Movies (Part 1) which screens daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Performance Hall at the Richmond Cultural Centre, September 22 through October 8.

Ron is a longtime Richmond resident who founded Pacific Theatre in 1984. The company worked out of the Richmond Gateway Theatre until 1994, when they built a permanent performance home in Vancouver. At the end of 2020 Ron retired from his position as Artistic Director to work as a freelance visual artist, actor, writer, and director. Check out "Soul Food Ghost Light" wherever you get your podcasts.
