About

The Barrie Farmers' Market is a vibrant, year-round community hub located at 70 Collier Street, in front of Barrie City Hall. Established in 1846, it stands as one of Ontario's oldest farmers' markets, operating on the same historic site for almost 180 years .

Every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, rain or shine, the market showcases the best of Barrie and its surrounding areas. Visitors can expect a diverse array of offerings from over 70 local vendors, including fresh produce, meats, baked goods, artisanal crafts, and more.

Beyond shopping, the market offers a lively atmosphere with live music performances and children's activities, making it a family-friendly destination. It's not just a place to buy goods—it's a space to connect with the community, meet the people behind the products, and enjoy the local culture.

Whether you're a longtime resident or a visitor, the Barrie Farmers' Market offers a unique and enriching experience that celebrates local food, crafts, and community spirit.

Barrie Farmers' Market

The Barrie Farmers' Market aligns closely with the mission of Culture Days, which is to celebrate arts, culture, and community engagement through accessible and inclusive experiences.

As a vibrant, community-rooted space that showcases local farmers, artisans, musicians, and makers, the market naturally embodies the spirit of Culture Days. It offers a platform where local culture is lived and shared—from handmade goods and culinary traditions to live performances and interactive activities for all ages.

During Culture Days, the Barrie Farmers' Market enhances its offerings by hosting special events such as live local music and cultural performances, interactive art activities and craft stations for children and families, and collaborations with local artists, nonprofits, and cultural groups.

By providing a space where community members can connect, create, and celebrate local talent, the market contributes to making culture more visible and accessible to all.
