Have you noticed the images on the pillars at Mission library and wondered about people memorialized there? Learn from family and friends - who these people are and how they provided leadership and contributed to our community. Meet descendants and share memories and brief biographies. Ask questions, learn about our the indigenous people in our region in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Pre-register to receive a copy of the recently published St Mary's: Legacy of an Indian Residential School with quotations and photos from people who attended.

Aboriginal Genealogy Association

Aboriginal Genealogy Association: a cooperative network of enthusiastic volunteers with big hearts and willing spirits, centred around ancestry and family connections. Learning together - expand your family tree, track indigenous ancestors, share culture, knowledge, skills, and connections. Our purpose is establishing links with others; together, we are creating a legacy of stories, photographs and memories for preservation of indigenous ‘ways of knowing’.

We engage a community of like-minded people at workshops, drop-in networking events, casual conversation and participation in local and regional special events.

b) increase awareness and understanding of the contributions, history, culture, and traditions of indigenous people

c) participate in projects, events and celebrations that reach out to persons of all ages, beliefs, and backgrounds to enhance a positive spirit and mutual understanding

d) encourage publication and performances that celebrate indigenous creativity, knowledge and achievements,
