About
John Ramsay: Life & Legacy
You will view a film about the tragic story of John Ramsay, the Icelandic settlers at Sandy Bar, the smallpox epidemic and survival. The story of John Ramsay has been passed on from one generation to the next. Told through music and video the poignant story was shot and produced in Manitoba by local filmmakers Andy Blicq and Huw Eirug, with original music written and performed by Juno award winning artist William Prince of Peguis First Nation, Manitoba.
Visitors can also take in the show of works by area artists Gary Foidart, Gayle Halliwell, Moray McVey, Rosemary Miguez and Stephanie Sutton. Titled "In Harmony: Land, Lake, Trees & Shore". This show is an exploration of the the five elements of harmony and evokes reflection about how we find harmony within, with each other, and with our environment. Some artists will be on hand to talk with about the meanings and methods they use to create harmony in their works.

New Iceland Heritage Museum & Independent Artists
The New Iceland Heritage Museum (NIHM) greets visitors from around the world year round, seven days a week, at its main multi-media location in the The Waterfront Centre.
Through the presentation of dynamic permanent exhibits, temporary and traveling exhibits, and through a variety of workshops, lectures and programs the New Iceland Heritage Museum (NIHM) strives to serve the public as a valuable community resource that meets the increasing needs of new audiences and that presents relevant topics and issues in a rapidly changing world.
Five independent artists have joined together with the NIHM to present their works within the theme of harmony. Artists Gary Foidart, Gayle Halliwell, Moray McVey, Rosemary Miguez and Stephanie Sutton have created a show that invites the viewer to explore their use of five different media to focus on the five elements of harmony.
