Join us for an afternoon of stories with Becky Alexander, author of Tales from an Old Hespeler Girl. Registration is required.

About our Speaker:

Becky Alexander grew up in Hespeler during its heydays of the 50s and 60s. She wrote two memoirs about Hespeler, and one related collection of short stories. Her presentation will focus on the downtown area of the times, some businesses, special features, and Hespeler's importance as a thriving community.

Becky Alexander is a Cambridge writer. Her poetry and prose have won awards, and have been published in anthologies nationally and internationally, and in such periodicals as Canadian Author, Canadian Writer's Journal, Guideposts, Zygote, Country Woman, The Amethyst Review, Hammered Out, and in all print issues to date of Ascent Aspirations. She has published twelve poetry collections and was the 2006 recipient of the Waterloo Regional Arts Council (WRAC Conteur) Award for best poetry. She is the founder of Craigleigh Press.

Becky has two sons, a cat, and a dog. Her husband, Dave Allen, assists with the production of books for Craigleigh Press.

A visual presentation and handouts will be provided. Questions are welcomed.
