About
Come on a visual journey, or two, with the drawings of Liz Charsley. Up Vancouver Island to the fields, forests and coasts of Hornby Island, or on a road trip across the province to Alberta. Marvel, as Liz did, at the mountains viewed from wintry roads, and the endlessly snowy urban trails. Savour views of the beaches and coast paths around Victoria, and take a closer look at tangles of weeds and wildflowers.
This Must Be The Place comprises original drawings in charcoal, oil pastel, watercolour, and ink, of places that have been meaningful to the artist.
All works are for sale, with prints and greeting cards also available.

I recently returned to living and making art in Victoria, after 30 years in London, UK, where I worked as a theatrical prop maker and set builder. I found a studio at XChanges, and joined Gage Gallery, an artist-run collective, where I can show my work. Gage is made up of 22 local contemporary artists dedicated to creating an inspiring venue where we exhibit and sell our artwork as well as engage with community in meaningful ways around art and culture. In addition to monthly solo shows by member artists, our members gallery features an array of paintings and sculptures by collective members along with prints and art cards at very affordable prices.
