About

Discover Saskatoon’s rich fossil history and heritage along the beautiful South Saskatchewan River. Tour guide and Museum of Natural Sciences volunteer Graeme Hopkins will lead tour groups through a series of historically significant sites along the river that help illuminate what Saskatoon was like during the Ice Age, over 10,000 years ago. The tour segment of the event will end at the Museum of Natural Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan campus. The event will conclude with an interpretive program focused on Saskatchewan’s history through deep time as well as local fossil finds featuring real fossil specimens and a scavenger hunt through the fossil-rich Tyndall stone of the campus buildings.
