About
Obscura – Work-in-Progress Shadow Theatre Performance
Step into the enchanting world of Obscura, a captivating fusion of shadow theatre, optical illusions, and original live music. In this special BC Culture Days presentation, creator Emily Geoffroy and visual artist Magda Ochoa invite the public to witness and participate in the ongoing development of the piece.
Over the course of four hours, audience members will have the unique opportunity to watch the creative process unfold in real time, as the artists experiment with light, movement, and sound to bring abstract stories to life. Composer Sophian Alkurdi’s evocative score blends orchestral arrangements with textured soundscapes, enriching the immersive experience.
Part performance, part artistic laboratory, Obscura offers an intimate look at how visual storytelling evolves from concept to stage, and invites visitors to share in the magic of creation.
